Holy Weekend (From Wayne Alexander)

Dear friends,

Wayne - Wayne 2You may have already heard some of the practical bits of information concerning our Easter Weekend, but what I wanted to share with you is that I have never felt such anticipation for an Easter Celebration. I feel an excitement stirring about how God is going to meet profoundly with many people this weekend.

At PBC we will celebrate Good Friday and Easter Sunday; the most profound occasions on the Christian calendar. I will be drawing our "Easter Hope" series to its conclusion and I'm really excited about the messages I believe God has stirred in my heart and how we're going to celebrate the events that changed the course of history two thousand years ago. The morning and evening services have been designed this weekend to be different from each other; I'll be preaching a different message, and other elements within the service are different, so that if you're able to, you can come twice on this special Sunday to support those being baptised, confident that you'll experience two different but powerful services.

On Good Friday our service in the morning at 10am is designed to slow us all down and help us reflect deeply on the price that was paid for our redemption. We will be celebrating communion together so please come with a surrendered and grateful heart. Please enter our Good Friday service quietly as many value that time before the service begins to pray and reflect.

So can I lay a challenge before you? The services and teachings on Sunday are very relevant for those completely new to church, as well as the most experienced believer. I am confident that you will be thrilled that you extended an invitation to every single person God prompts you to invite.  In the middle of what continues to be tough times in our world, I am very proud to be able to proclaim that resurrection power and hope are still available for normal people who humble themselves before God and ask Him for help. I am praying that the whole PBC community and dozens of your not-yet Christian friends and family will be assured of that hope this weekend.

Warmest love,

Wayne

There will be readings and prompts for your thoughts and prayers, leading to the cross itself and Psalm 22. Jesus is the theme of our praise. Come and worship Him.

Easter Sunday - Baptisms and The Miracle Maker

2nd April, 2012

Easter week at PBC has some thought provoking and interesting opportunities for worship and glorifying our living God. There's Good Friday service at 10am, followed by the Walk of Witness at 11am to the Village Green for the HOPE Pembury Churches Together annual service on the green. Hot cross buns and refreshments will be served at the Hanes' home after the service finishes. And on Easter Sunday, there's three baptisms taking place in the morning at 10am followed by a family opportunity at 5pm to enjoy a cinematic experience with popcorn, icecream and fizzy pop whilst watching The Miracle Maker.
