The Decision: Rev. Wayne Alexander

  • Sep 9, 2010

Dear Friends

Last night I received a very strong call from the members meeting of Tonbridge Baptist Church (TBC) to become their Senior Minister when Derek Hills retires. After having some time to reflect on this news and draw near to God, Jem and I have just informed TBC that we will accept their call.

Although this is a day when Jem and I are so grateful to God for His very clear leading throughout this whole year, our excitement is mixed with genuine sadness about leaving this church family that we love at PBC. I've been reflecting a great deal on the journey PBC has had these last eight years, and how God has spoken so decisively to us all in key moments regarding the development of our Community Projects, the growth of our Youth Ministry and our Small Groups, the launch of a new era for Children's Ministry in Promiseland, the growth of our Young Adults work - and so many other ministries. I look forward to seeing how God continues to use and grow these ministries and what He will do at PBC in the next season. Your investments of prayer, time, energy and finances in these and other ministries will lead to a harvest, and God will bring the right leaders here in His timing.

I have yet to speak with the Elders regarding my notice period but we will inform you as soon as we have clarity.

With my love

Wayne

Pastor Dave Baxter's New Year Message

10th January, 2012

Pastor Dave Baxter welcomed in the new year in the PBC News with a story of Hans Nielsen Hauge. That touch of God's hand and answer to prayer was the start of Hauge's God-driven mission to the whole of the Norwegian people. It was a time when Norwegians were emigrating to America and consequently, Hauge's teaching on repentance and salvation went over to the US with the Lutherans. What will God do in our lives this year? What are we praying for? Click on the header for the story and our Pastor's welcome in full. Happy New Year!
