Is Prayer your Steering Wheel or your Spare Tyre? (Corrie Ten Boom)

'Living on a Prayer' is a six week PBC sermon series, starting on Sunday 13th June and focussing on what prayer is and how it can impact our lives.

The first three of the series ask what are we doing when we pray – praying to a loving Father, praying through Jesus giving access to the Father, and praying in the power of the Spirit who enables us and revives us in prayer.

The second half of the series focusses on past prayers in different situations, and thinking about what we pray to God in our own situations, for example, when God is silent or, perhaps, when we can’t do anything else.

The series runs up to the start of August 2010.

Pembury Baptist Church worships on Sunday morning starting at 10am followed by refreshments.  On Sunday evenings, there is an informal service starting with refreshments at 6.15pm, followed by a service based on Worship, Word or Witness (Prayer and Testimony) at 6.30pm.  On the last Sunday evening of the month, The Bridge, the youth service is held for 11-18's.

Pastor Dave Baxter's New Year Message

10th January, 2012

Pastor Dave Baxter welcomed in the new year in the PBC News with a story of Hans Nielsen Hauge. That touch of God's hand and answer to prayer was the start of Hauge's God-driven mission to the whole of the Norwegian people. It was a time when Norwegians were emigrating to America and consequently, Hauge's teaching on repentance and salvation went over to the US with the Lutherans. What will God do in our lives this year? What are we praying for? Click on the header for the story and our Pastor's welcome in full. Happy New Year!
