Matt Conroy is the trainee Youth Worker at PBC. He is currently studying for a degree in Youth Work and Ministry at Oasis College in London whilst on placement here.
Matt became a Christian in 2006, mainly because of how he recognised God working in the people who were around him and supporting him. After giving his life to Jesus, Matt was asked to become the Youth Intern at PBC by Rev. Wayne Alexander and Rev. Simon Cragg, the previous PBC Senior and Associate Pastors.
Whilst working as an Intern, Matt wanted to learn how he could lead young people to God more effectively so began to look into studies and universities that would enable him in his area of serving. Oasis College was the first one he looked at and Matt felt this was the right place for him to be. PBC took Matt on as an Oasis placement student and Matt says 'they have given me an incredible platform for learning and progressing not only in my knowledge of working with young people but also in my walk with God.'
Since Matt's intern days, he has had the opportunity to go on many youth weekends away and Soul Survivor as well as four weeks in Mozambique and for three weeks to act as intern in a church in America.
Matt's favourite things to do are playing football, playing guitar and going skiing. He gets to play football most Saturdays and is part of a Christian band called Third Floor Movement.
