Promiseland

What is PromiseLand?

In October, we are launching a brand new model of Children's Ministry called Promiseland which will meet at the Pembury school and aim to be "the best hour of every kid's week". It will be an exciting venture that will involve many committed volunteers and a lot of effort, but will be an amazing way for us to raise the risk level, rethink leading children to full to devotion to Christ, and release unprecendented levels of compasssion as we seek to support families in Pembury. It will run for children in reception to year 6, and will involve 11-18s as assistant leaders. Please pray about how you may be involved in this exciting vision as we head towards launching it in October.

We need you!

We are asking the PBC community to seriously consider Promiseland as an opportunity to serve on a Sunday morning. We believe this is mission which God will bless. There are many different roles, many of which are behind the scenes and do not involve interaction with children! These roles are gift based, time based and passion based - we really believe there is a role which will help us make Promiseland happen but fits within your particular context. The roles can be found here:

Small Group Leader; Assistant Small Group Leader; Large Group Leader; Receptionist; Set-up Team; Worship Leaders and Musicians; Technical Operator; Administration Support

You can read the Promiseland Values here. For more information about Promiseland or to register your interest in serving, please e-mail . You can also contribute to Promiseland through Sainsbury's vouchers for school equipment - collect your vouchers and put them in the box at the welcome table or get them to Simon Cragg.

This is what an average morning will look like:

9.45 Activity stations:

Children begin to be dropped off by parents and immediately particpate in Activity stations. This features table games, crafts, and other fun activities. This is unstructured time labelled "play with a purpose." Small Group leaders use this opportunity to build relationships with kids. Establishes an atmosphere of fun.

10.20 Large Group:

All groups gather in a common area for a dynamic time of learning that is Bible-based, interactive, life-changing, engaging and fun enough to keep each child's full attention. This will include drama, worship, games, and videos.

10.50 Small Groups:

Children connect into their age-based groups to creatively discover ways they can apply the Bible truth learned in Large group. This is the ideal setting for intentional shepherding by the adult small group leader. This will end at 11.30am.

Vision:

To provide a safe environment in which children from reception to year 6 can have the best hour of their week, and learn about God's passion and love for them.

News & Announcements

25th April, 2008

Our next teaching series begins on the 18th May. Called 'Ask Anything', it is a series that will look at hard questions that you have or hold your friends back from finding faith. Please e-mail your hard questions to askanything@pemburybaptistchurch.org

23rd April, 2008

Our guest speaker at this Sunday's United Service (10am) is Gavin Calver. He was really appreciated on his last visit for his powerful, no-nonse preaching style. Our United service has a special event in our hall for all children and teaching for adults in the sanctuary.
