Men`s Ministry

"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." (Proverbs 27:17)

We arrange a series of events under the banner "Man 2 Man". These have included men's breakfasts, retreats, curry nights brewery visits, and simple times of fellowship. We are encouraging all men in the church to draw together in groups of 3-4 to provide mutual support and prayer for each other.

Monthly gathering at the Pub

We also meet the last Thursday of every month at the Camden Arms for a drink and catch up between 8/8.30pm until we have to go home! It's just an informal chance for men at PBC and their mates to get together.

The dates for 2008 are: 29th May, 26th June, July 31st, 28th August, 25th September, 30th October, 27th November. For more information, e-mail

The men's ministry team is Philip Davis, Bren Fahy, David Marfleet and Roger Parrett. We are passionate about helping men in the church to draw closer as brothers and to help those outside to come to know Christ.

Our programme for 2008 is as follows:

Friday 22nd February: Visit to Westerham Brewery
Saturday March 29th: Breakfast at the Camden: Colin Burgess "Finding God in Adversity"
Saturday 24th May: Hope 2008 interchurch men's breakfast at the Jarvis Hotel: theme is "The Church and Community"
Saturday 27th July: Curry night and worship at PBC
Saturday 8th November: Camden Breakfast: "Money matters"
Friday/Saturday 21st-22nd November: Excel Men's conference at the Abundant Life Church, Bradford.

Other ad hoc events may be arranged - watch this space.

25th April, 2008

Our next teaching series begins on the 18th May. Called 'Ask Anything', it is a series that will look at hard questions that you have or hold your friends back from finding faith. Please e-mail your hard questions to askanything@pemburybaptistchurch.org

23rd April, 2008

Our guest speaker at this Sunday's United Service (10am) is Gavin Calver. He was really appreciated on his last visit for his powerful, no-nonse preaching style. Our United service has a special event in our hall for all children and teaching for adults in the sanctuary.

18th April, 2008

A notice to all PBC members: our AGM begins at 7:45pm on the 22nd April for refreshments and time together. The evening includes: worship and prayer, important reviews of 2007, reaffirmation (voting) of the Eldership and an exciting vision announcement about the year ahead. Please make every effort to be there.
