Overview - Eldership and Team Leaders

Pembury Baptist Church is served by a committed team of men and women who have responsibility and accountability for particular areas with PBC's ministries.

Eldership (E-mail )

Each year you have an opportunity to influence the leadership of your church at the highest level by participating in the Elder election process. A central theme of the New Testament is that the church needs to be led by a plurality of godly leaders and that plurality of leadership extends to the Elder's empowerment of the Staff Team and Team Leaders.

The tasks and responsibilities of the elders vary greatly and require discernment, as they strive to keep the church on its biblical course. On a daily basis, and in our two meetings each month, the Elders team tackle key issues facing the church. These include (not exhaustive!)
o Creating policy in terms of belief or biblical interpretation
o Dealing with social issues
o Handling financial concerns
o Conflict resolution, discipline and restoration
o Supporting the Staff Team
o Ensuring effective pastoral care throughout the congregation

In this process, we are looking for more than spiritual qualifications, people who have embraced the mission and vision of PBC, who are investing in the lives of unbelievers, and who are actively serving in the furthering of God's Kingdom.

Our Eldership Team is:

Our Team Leaders

Team Leaders have responsibility over teams and specific parts of PBC. They seek to serve, model, disciple and lead their teams and the church forward. They attend a bi-monthly leaders meeting called Forward Together at which strategy, opportunities and challenges are discussed, before praying for one another.

Testimony - Saved from Self Harm

4th February, 2010

Becky gave her testimony on being freed from the addiction of self harm when Rev. Philip Davis spoke on 'Transformation' and has kindly allowed us to reproduce her words on the website for encouragement to a wider audience. We praise God for her freedom from this debilitating but common issue among young people and pray that it might make a difference to others to hear her words. Click on the heading to read her testimony.
