Overview - Eldership and Team Leaders

Pembury Baptist Church is served by a committed team of men and women who have responsibility and accountability for particular areas with PBC's ministries.

Eldership (E-mail )

Each year, if you have committed to membership of Pembury Baptist Church, you have an opportunity to influence the leadership of your church at the highest level by participating in the Elder election process. A central theme of the New Testament is that the church needs to be led by a plurality of godly leaders and that plurality of leadership extends to the Elder's empowerment of the Staff Team and Team Leaders.

The tasks and responsibilities of the elders vary greatly and require discernment, as they strive to keep the church on its biblical course. On a daily basis, and in our two meetings each month, the Elders team tackle key issues facing the church. These include (not exhaustive!)
o Creating policy in terms of belief or biblical interpretation
o Dealing with social issues
o Handling financial concerns
o Conflict resolution, discipline and restoration
o Supporting the Staff Team
o Ensuring effective pastoral care throughout the congregation

In this process, we are looking for more than spiritual qualifications, people who have embraced the mission and vision of PBC, who are investing in the lives of unbelievers, and who are actively serving in the furthering of God's Kingdom.

31st August, 2010

On Sunday 26th September, PBC is joining in the national initiative 'Back to Church Sunday', an annual set aside Sunday which provides a great opportunity to invite friends, family and neighbours along for a taster of 'church'. There are prayer cards and invitation cards available from the Church Welcome Table or the Church Office. Do start praying for those you would like to invite along to this 'Come as You Are' morning service, and give them the invitation card or just ask them! Rev. Wayne Alexander will be sharing the good news of Jesus with us after spending time in worship. You don't have to wait for an invite if you'd like to join us in worship - you're welcome anyway!
