We believe passionately in the importance of caring for the world God has made, for the sake of the future not only of the planet but its people, particularly the poorest who are hardest hit by climate change. It's about loving our neighbour.
We are working towards an A Rocha Eco Church Silver Award and using these 5 areas to assess our impact on the environment:
- Our church services
- Our buildings
- The land around the church
- Our lifestyle
- Our engagement locally and globally
Here are just a few of the things we've done recently:
- Solar Panels installed on the church hall roof
- Electricity from 100% renewable sources
- Bug Hotels - built by Messy Church
- Hedgehog House, Bird Feeder, Bird Boxes and Bat Box on site
- Water Butt installed
- Talking regularly about the environment in our Sunday Services - and praying too
- Using recycled toilet paper and environmentally friendly cleaning products
- Including a 'green corner' in our newsletter
- Installing more secondary and double glazing
- Putting in a bike rack
- Installing 'Hive' smart heating system
