Back to Church!

30th July 2021

All government restrictions on public worship have been lifted, yet the wearing of face coverings in crowded indoor spaces is still recommended, and COVID-19 is still very much with us. The PBC leadership team were guided by Paul’s advice in Romans 14 in deciding how to proceed.

Verse 13 says:   ‘…make up your mind not to put a stumbling-block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister…’     Concern and love for others must be our guide.

We decided that:

You   no longer need to book     to attend, but   ask that everyone please  :

  • Sanitise hands upon arrival
  • Continue to wear face coverings all the time indoors at church, unless exempt
  • Feel free to sing (behind your mask/face shield)
  • Ask permission before physical contact (hugs, handshakes)
  • Use the outdoor spaces for chatting after the service

We will:

  • Keep all the doors open throughout for ventilation
  • Spread the chairs out as much as possible
  • Keep a count on numbers, and continue to review the situation
  • Continue livestreaming the service for those unable to attend physically
  • Aim to put up gazebos on rainy days

For now:

  • The service will retain the same format, lasting about an hour
  • Refreshments will not be served yet so bring your own water/coffee flask
  • Bibles will not be available

If you would like a bit more space around you, please aim to sit on the end of an aisle and pick up a card from the welcome team to place on the seat next to you.

We recognise that some of us may feel this is taking things too fast whereas others might be frustrated. We are all feeling our way here!   ‘Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and mutual edification.’     (Romans 14:19). Hope to see you Sunday!

Yours in Christ,

Sam, Daph, Di, Alistair, Tracy, Rob and Dan.
